Early Years (ages
2½-5) - Dragon Park Nursery
Dragon Park Nursery is part of St. David’s Preparatory School and is situated within the peaceful and historic 30 acre landscaped grounds of St. David’s School – an oasis of calm in a busy London suburb.
The Nursery provides a secure and stimulating co-educational environment. The activities are challenging and encourage the children to learn, explore and play to develop their understanding of mathematics, reading and language.
Research has shown that children who attend Nursery achieve better at school. They are generally more socially confident, have improved powers of concentration and are more articulate.
The Nursery has its own self-contained classrooms, with an activity area for free and directed play, a quiet area for pre-reading, writing and number work and an area for art and craft activities. Come and see this newly refurbished facility with undercover play area to facilitate ouside activities in all seasons.
There is an enclosed garden for outdoor play and learning. Through play the children explores different experiences in different situations. Play helps them increase their knowledge and understanding of mathematical, scientific and linguistic concepts, listening and speaking are fundamental to a young child’s learning and a great deal of time is spent talking and listening to our children.
The school is accessed via electronically controlled gates and the grounds are monitored by CCTV. A car park, with pedestrian paths and a crossing, is provided for safe and convenient arrival and departure.
Our generous staff/ pupil ratio ensures a high degree of special care. We warmly invite you and your child to visit us and view everything for yourself.
We participate in the Government Nursery Grant Scheme.
