Preparatory School Home Page

St David’s lovely campus has plenty of space for our younger pupils to learn, play and grow and it is a delight and a privilege to watch them develop.

Although the largest part of my teaching career has been spent in ‘through schools’ (pupils from 2 to 18 years) I have enjoyed time too as head of a preparatory school and found the years there invaluable for a closer understanding of the needs of our younger pupils. It has given me a much better idea of what constitutes an excellent learning environment and how we can give our pupils a head start on their educational journey.

The progress from starting in nursery, through Key Stages 1 and 2 to year 6 is often (and should be!) exciting. Indeed, for most children, this progress is meteoric! Fuelling curiosity and feeding this intellectual, physical and social development is what makes our work in schools so rewarding. This September, as rather many before, I am impatient to get on with this work. I invite you, whether you are current or interested, prospective parents, to come and share your views with me on your hopes for your child and their learning journey.
