School Life - Introduction
The words you are about to read and the images you are about to see cannot tell the whole story. In choosing an excellent school you make one of the most important investments for your child’s future. So read on and discover what makes St. David’s School unique.
The Preparatory School is situated within the peaceful and historic 30 acre landscaped grounds of St. David’s School – an oasis of calm in a busy London Suburb.
We have around 120 pupils with girls from 3 to 11 and boys from 3 to 7.
St. David’s Preparatory School offers continuous early education for children in the Nursery and Pre Prep.
Boys will be prepared for the 7+ Entry Examination into Prep school and guidance will be provided regarding the next stage of their education. Girls continue through the Prep School graduating into the Senior School at age 11, many achieving academic, gymnastics and music scholarships.
We provide an environment in which each individual pupil has the fullest opportunity for growth. Not just intellectually, but culturally, spiritually and physically. There is also an emphasis on having fun. Life is fun, because without fun, less is achieved.
The children explore Drama, Music, Dance and Art, which, in conjunction with Games, Gymnastics and Swimming ensure a rounded education. The school is especially proud of the wide variety of extra-curricular activities, which include Judo, Fencing, Dance, Sports Acrobatics, Choir and the School Band.
Ours is a happy school providing every opportunity for academic achievement and the development of personal and social skills. Close and friendly relationships are built between parents and staff and we are well known for our caring, family atmosphere.
Good manners and consideration for others are values that are fundamental to our life at St David’s. The school is a wonderfully happy place with children who are lively and charming, relaxed and confident as well as courteous and well behaved.
We offer a broad and balanced education, developing good learning habits and thinking skills at an early age. The calibre of the teaching staff and the positive, encouraging approach in the classroom provides excellent results.
The best way to find out more about St. David’s is to see for yourself. Watch a class in action. Talk to the teachers and children. Then you will discover the unique atmosphere and individual attention that give our children such a head start in life.
Whatever your child’s potential, we’ll develop it.
