Academic - Gifted and Talented

St. David’s main aim is to maximise the achievement of each individual through catering for their academic, creative and social needs.

Within the school we have girls that are gifted intellectually and others who may have a particular talent in say music, drama or sport.

We provide ample opportunities for those talented in music, drama or sport to develop themselves through our extensive extra-curricular programme. We also provide a variety of different activities for those who are particularly gifted intellectually. For instance, we do day trips to the top universities including Oxford and Cambridge, subsidised residential trips to activity centres, a lunchtime Gifted and Talented club for younger pupils, the possibility of taking an extra GCSE, and for sixth formers, guided preparation for Oxbridge entrance.

This individualised, proactive and creative approach has resulted in an ever increasing number of gifted pupils choosing to join the school.
