Academic - Introduction
St. David’s is a small school in which each
girl is known individually and which caters for her personal academic
and social needs. This means that no girl gets unnoticed or lost,
and any academic or social problems can be picked up quickly and
individual help given.
The academic curriculum has both breadth and depth. Our small classes
mean that girls can work at their own pace and get the individual
help that they need. A structured progression allows subjects to
increase in complexity and depth in a logical way, and each pupil
is trained to take an increasing degree of responsibility for her
work as she goes up the school without feeling as if she is on her
own.
Our teaching staff are a highly trained and professional team of
graduates. They use the best teaching techniques not only to make
sure that the pupils attain excellent examination results, but also
to ensure that the learning experience is enjoyable and personally
rewarding.
We also believe strongly in close and regular contact with parents
to ensure an effective learning partnership. Grade reviews are sent
home half termly and full written reports at the end of each term.
We are always available to our parents to discuss any pupil concerns
that they have.
