Admissions - Entrance Examination

The Entrance Examination for entry to Year 7 takes place in January - for girls looking to start in September 2010 the Entrance Examination will be on Tuesday 5th January starting at 9:15am

Applications should be made by the end of November at the latest. Information packs will then be sent out to all students who are registered.

The examination consists of three main parts: English, Maths and Verbal Reasoning. Girls who have applied for a Scholarship or Assisted Place will sit an additional Extension Paper.

Academic Scholarships/Assisted Places
Students who perform exceptionally well in the examination are invited back to the school for a short interview with the Head before a final decision is made.

Music Scholarships
An audition will be held on a separate day and will be assessed at a 20-minute interview. Students will be asked to prepare two contrasting pieces and will be tested on both aural ability and general musicianship. Applicants should be currently at Grade 3 or 4 on their main instrument to apply.

Gymnastics Scholarships
Girls who have applied for a Gymnastics Scholarship will take part in a trial in the afternoon, run by our own coach. They should bring with them a portfolio of their activities and a letter of recommendation from their current coach/teacher.

Sports Scholarships

Pupils will need to supply a portfolio of their achievements on the day of the Main Entrance Exam together with a letter of recommendation.

All applicants will be informed as soon as possible following final selection.
