Admissions - Scholarships & Welsh Bursaries

Academic Scholarships are available with a value of up to 25% of fees, following an extension paper on entrance examination day and an interview.

Assisted Places are also available for girls of a high academic ability, awarded following an extension paper and an interview. They have a value of up to 90% and are subject to means testing. Please visit the Assisted Places page.

Art Awards are made on entry to the school at Year 7 on the basis of a portfolio and a piece of work produced during the entrance examination. The awards have a value of £500 which is deducted from the first term’s fee.

Gymnastics Scholarships are awarded on entry to the school at Year 7, with a value of up to 25% and are awarded following trials with our Gymnastics coach.

High Performance Gymnastics Scholarships are also available, on entry at other times, offering full boarding fees (excluding academic fees).
A portfolio of achievements and recommendation from a gymnastic coach is required for all Gymnastic Scholarships. All Gymnastics Scholarships are conditional on the student representing the school in gymnastics competitions.

Music Scholarships are awarded on entry to the school on the strength of auditions and are worth 25% of the annual fees.

Welsh Bursaries are available to girls of Welsh parentage. It is necessary for the child or parent to have been born in Wales and a Birth Certificate will be requested for authentication. Welsh Bursaries have a value of £500 per term, which is deducted from fees.
